Hi, I'm Charles. Father of a child with ASD and ADHD. 5 years navigating the sensory-friendly world in Columbia, SC.

When my child was first diagnosed, one of the hardest parts was figuring out which places in Columbia were actually welcoming and accommodating for sensory-sensitive kids — and which ones just said they were.

This directory is the resource I wished I had five years ago. Every venue listed here includes real information about sensory accommodations, and where I've personally visited, I've added my own parent tips and honest assessments.

How Listings Work

Each listing in this directory can include up to three layers of information:

• Parent Recommendations — My firsthand experience visiting with my child. These are marked with a star and include honest tips about what to expect.
• Community Insights — What other parents say in Google reviews, analyzed for sensory-relevant details like noise levels, crowding, and staff accommodation.
• Basic Info— Address, hours, pricing, and contact details sourced from the venue's website and Google.
